Eileen Blezard

There is an exercise in the PEAL training where participants are asked to think about their journey to the training that morning. Eileen has shared with us her experience of her interview day to become a PEAL trainer:

Eileen Blezard'The day I had the interview was fun. I drove from home to Ashby De La Zouch to pick up candidate portfolios, then across the A50 to the M6 up to the East Lancs road, dropped some files off for the internal verifier literally at Junction 23, drove round the M60 to the M62. Got off at Huddersfield having planned my presentation in the car! Pulled out a session plan from the previous day that I had delivered to level 3s, got Angela [on the interview panel] demonstrating child development standing on one leg!

Had the interview bit then got back on the M62 to go along the A63 towards Hull to care for elderly mum in Beverley for the next 2 days whilst my dad was in hospital having done a quick tour of the East and West Mids up to Manchester and across to East Yorkshire!

On the back of this was offered the PEAL Trainer [position]! Unprepared, nervous as anything, worried sick about everything and astounded I met the grade!

Must have got something right!'
