The University of Sheffield's School of Education is hosting a
free conference, funded by the Economic & Social Research
Council (ESRC) on early literacy work with families. The event is
aimed at anyone working in early years settings, schools and
support services.
The conference will be chaired by Emeritus
Professor Peter Hannon and will feature 20
practitioners who have been working on the Early Literacy
Work with Families project, who will share their
experiences of working with the ORIM (Opportunities Recognition
Interaction Models) Framework in their settings. They will present
examples of their work and discuss how this has made a difference
to children and families. They will lead a range of inspiring,
practical workshops. The full list of workshops can be found on the
flyer and delegates will be
able to attend two as part of the day. Professor Cathy
Nutbrown, Professor of Education, Director for Research at
The University of Sheffield, School of Education, will also be
giving a keynote address on Early Literacy
Work with Families.
