A Framework for Early Literacy Development with Parents:
Opportunities, Recognition, Interaction and Models
Raising Early Achievement in Literacy (REAL)
The University of Sheffield is looking for 20 teachers and
early years practitioners to work on A Framework for
Early Literacy Development with Parents project. To
apply, please complete an electronic copy of the
application form.
To participate you will need to be able to attend three 24-hour
residential workshops in Sheffield on 22/23 September, 27/28
October and 24/25, November; and a final conference in Sheffield on
Thursday 15th March 2012 at which you will share your
experience of working with the ORIM framework, including new
developments.
Please note that travel
and accommodation costs will be met by the project but the cost of
cover will not. All applications need to be accompanied by an email
from your head teacher or setting manager confirming his/her
support for your application and agreement to your involvement (and
absence from the setting to attend the Sheffield workshops and
conference).
The deadline for
applications and the letter of support is 25th June
2011. Both the completed application form and letter of
support should be emailed to Karen Kitchen (K.Kitchen@sheffield.ac.uk),
who can also be contacted for more details about the project.
Please ask headteachers/managers to put LETTER OF SUPPORT and YOUR
NAME in the subject box.
