New guide for practitioners working with children for whom English is an additional language

Supporting children learning English as an additional language: Guidance for practitioners in the Early Years Foundation Stage was issued by DCSF in October 2007. The Guidance is intended for teaching assistants, KS1 teachers, Foundation Stage practitioners, and EAL teachers. It includes the importance of home languages; about learning English as a second language; and bilingual support.
