Children's Rights publication now
available
The 51 national organisations which comprise
the Early Childhood Forum have today published "Championing Young
Children's Rights and Entitlements", a practical introduction to
children's rights for the early years workforce. This essential
booklet is the culmination of the Forum's campaign for 2006-7. As
well as explaining the rights which are part of the UN Convention,
it also provides early years practitioners with the key tools to
enable them to promote children's rights in their everyday
work.
Sue Owen, Director of the Early Childhood Unit
at NCB, which facilitates the Forum said: "It's quite a challenge
to get this many organisations to work together successfully on a
topic like this, but it is the aim of the Forum to reach consensus
on important areas of work and to speak with one voice for a large
and diverse sector".
The booklet costs £1.00 (contact Jayne Garner
on jgarner@ncb.org.uk or

The Early Childhood Forum's campaign for
2007-8 will relate to the early years workforce and this will be
the focus of their annual conference in March 2008 and of a further
publication.
