A Framework for Early Literacy Development with Parents: Opportunities, Recognition, Interaction and Models

Raising Early Achievement in Literacy (REAL)

The University of Sheffield is looking for 20 teachers and early years practitioners to work on A Framework for Early Literacy Development with Parents project. To apply, please complete an electronic copy of the application form. To participate you will need to be able to attend three 24-hour residential workshops in Sheffield on 22/23 September, 27/28 October and 24/25, November; and a final conference in Sheffield on Thursday 15th March 2012 at which you will share your experience of working with the ORIM framework, including new developments.

Please note that travel and accommodation costs will be met by the project but the cost of cover will not. All applications need to be accompanied by an email from your head teacher or setting manager confirming his/her support for your application and agreement to your involvement (and absence from the setting to attend the Sheffield workshops and conference).

The deadline for applications and the letter of support is 25th June 2011. Both the completed application form and letter of support should be emailed to Karen Kitchen (K.Kitchen@sheffield.ac.uk), who can also be contacted for more details about the project. Please ask headteachers/managers to put LETTER OF SUPPORT and YOUR NAME in the subject box.

Download the application form (Word document 78KB).
